Did a bit of jiggering and made a fiter to create a heart shaped bokeh effect.

It’s pretty simple. Just cut out some black cardboard and cut a heart shape in the middle and taped it to the lens (50mm lens with aperture at f1.8 for maximum blurry background). Voilà, there be a heart shaped effect. The more unfocused the background, the bigger the shape is. So where to use this? Well, this could be a fun addition to macro shots at a wedding or something. The possibilities are endless.

I made a more permanent filter “tube” that I can just put around the lens without having to tape anything on it. This way I can easily add it when I want to use the effect and maybe have some different patterns depending on the occasion.

Except new content, apparently.

I decided to spruce up the place a bit and got a new layout design. The old content is still all here and there will be new stuff coming soon, hopefully more regularly. At least that is the plan.

The name “Moving at a Glacial Pace” is from one of my favorite movies, Devil Wears Prada. I felt it suiting for this website and its history. It’s a constant work in progress and for some it might be moving very slowly. But there are updates, you just have to be patient. Really, really, really patient.

2012, here we go!
