DIY bokeh filter

Did a bit of jiggering and made a fiter to create a heart shaped bokeh effect.

It’s pretty simple. Just cut out some black cardboard and cut a heart shape in the middle and taped it to the lens (50mm lens with aperture at f1.8 for maximum blurry background). VoilĂ , there be a heart shaped effect. The more unfocused the background, the bigger the shape is. So where to use this? Well, this could be a fun addition to macro shots at a wedding or something. The possibilities are endless.

I made a more permanent filter “tube” that I can just put around the lens without having to tape anything on it. This way I can easily add it when I want to use the effect and maybe have some different patterns depending on the occasion.
